Guiding Principle
Sindh School System Welfare Foundation Geographical Outreach
"There can be no keener revelation of a society's soul than the way it treats its children," Nelson Mandela.
Every child matters
We maintain a no-discrimination policy for students, their families, and our staff. Our student bodies represent different cultures, ethnicities, religions, and income backgrounds. More, we practice a positive behavior intervention system where students behaviour is modified through various strategies. In our experience, we’ve found that once students begin to trust their teachers and cement a positive relationship, behavioral issues tend to subside. This takes time and each child follows his own coping strategies. We try our best to accomodate students and respect the different mindsets, predispositions, and experiences that our children bring. Through patience and determination, we create a culture of growth where students find motivation and courage to make amends.
Community counts
SSSWF implements effective education models while galvanizing community support for improved performance. Our interventions carefully traverse through varying socio-cultural settings. We harness skills, creativity, and cultures to fillip community interest and create desirable school environments. As local communities embrace their schools, all efforts to educate children extend to their families. We greatly value inputs from the community and have found many of our projects excel when community members themselves showed interest. Relationship building and trust are the cornerstone of our mission and we ensure the ideas that come from within the community materialize.
Knowledge is Right
Our teachers deliver robust and stimulating content through context-friendly techniques. We integrate social and emotional learning tools to achieve academic outcomes, personal growth, and student happiness. Our collaborative approach enables students to think, feel, and question. We encourage students to understand, assess, and analyze critically while developing a conscious sense of self. Our curriculum focuses on social and emotional aspects of learning, ethical education, current affairs, history, poetry, and collaborative learning to foster interdependence and spark a desire for holistic learning.
Teachers lead by example
Our teachers create classroom cultures where students feel loved, heard, and valued. We encourage diversity, inclusivity, and respect for all employees across our schools. Teacher training and counseling is central to all our projects. All new recruits undergo introductory workshops that familiarizes them with our vision, policies, and agendas. We facilitate our teachers with resources, supplementary knowledge, top-class teaching strategies, and respectful work environments.
Art is a way of knowing
Art is a powerful tool of expression which has the potential to integrate all forms of knowledge. We enable our students and staff to understand that no two things are distinct from one another and in fact, threads tie mathematics, science and technology to the arts. Aesthetic awareness is encouraged by including the islamic arts, modern arts and traditional music in hopes to instill in our children the capacity to understand beauty in all its forms, from the concrete to the abstract.
Tolerance
SSSWF believe that tolerance, which stands in stark opposition to ignorance, is the hallmark of an educated, elevated and enlightened mindset. The loftiest of all ideals, it is fair-mindedness beyond discrimination, allowing for the understanding and respect for others’ religious beliefs, socioeconomic backgrounds, and unique perspectives without harsh judgment. In a world that is evolving rapidly and growing exponentially, we must teach our children to expand their horizons, widen their circles of compassion and be open to the infinite possibilities awaiting a more beautiful tomorrow. In this regard, tolerance paves the way for personal, as well as collective growth, prosperity, and ultimately, lasting peace.
